Daniel Ehs Jolly, DDS, Dental Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Dentistry.
Dr. Jolly became a dentist to be of service to others, and his name will continue to be a part of budding medical students’ lives as the eponym of a scholarship fund in his honor, which was established at Ohio State University of Dentistry in 2000. He has taught dentistry since 1979, and notably directed the general practice residency program at Ohio State from 1987 to 2008. Dr. Jolly has supported numerous medical groups, and is the current president of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry as well as the American Association of Hospital Dentists. He is a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Expert and the recipient of a Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award and an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
A student of biology and chemistry at the University of Missouri, Dr. Jolly earned a DDS there in 1977, and went on to serve a residency with the Veterans Affair Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kansas. He opened a private practice in Newcastle, Wyoming for one year before returning to teach at his alma mater. He was also named chief of restorative dentistry with the Truman Medical Center, and in 1982 he went on to become director of dental oncology at the Trinity Lutheran Hospital. In 1987, Dr. Jolly was welcomed by Ohio State University, and from 2008 to 2013 he served as president of Immediadent of Ohio, which still calls him a member.
Dr. Jolly has appeared in the pages of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentistry, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Academy of Dentistry for the Handicapped, the American Society of Geriatric Dentistry, American Dentistry International, the American Association of Hospital Dentists, and the Academy of General Dentistry, among numerous association affiliations. Dr. Jolly received a 1995 Alumni Achievement Award in Dentistry from the University of Missouri, and has received an American Dental Association and Ohio Dental Association Humanitarian Award in 1994, 1995, and 1998. He is the proud father of Farrell. In the coming years, Dr. Jolly intends to intensify his efforts in education.
