David G. Racer Jr., MLitt, Chief Executive Officer at DGRCommunications, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in American government and history education and publishing.

With decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Racer has excelled as the chief executive officer and founder of DGRCommunications, Inc. in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2000, Mr. Racer founded Alethos Press, a small publishing company. He uses this company to conduct research for new books, and assists writers with their book projects.

For more than 25 years Mr. Racer has been active as a teacher of American government, Contemporary Issues, The USA Constitution, and Student Senate, and is now based out of The MidMetro Academy. He started teaching these courses in 1998, and he plans, strategizes, and executes his teaching programs while promoting extensive reading, studying, and writing practices.

Since 2005, in addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Racer has authored, co-authored, edited and published 22 books about the United States health care system. He continues his work in health care as the director of communications for Dattilo Consulting Inc. (DCI) in Chaska, Minnesota.

Between 1967 and 1971, Mr. Racer served in the United States Air Force. Assigned to the Personnel Training Branch, he served on a select team of educators. The “Computer Assisted Instruction” team wrote the first ever course using a computer to teach how to use a computer. As Staff Sergeant, Mr. Racer wrote 20 of the 60 hours of instruction.

To support his myriad ambitions, Mr. Racer initially pursued an education at Macalester College, majoring in music education in 1966. He continued his academic efforts with additional coursework in music education at the University of Minnesota in 1967. Pressure from the Draft Board found him voluntarily enlisting in the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, he shifted his attention toward coursework in educational psychology at The University of Southern Mississippi in 1971. Mr. Racer eventually concluded his studies at Oxford Graduate School in 2009, graduating with a Master of Letters in organizational leadership.

Mr. Racer became self-employed in 1974 when he founded and served as chief executive officer for ServiceMaster of Maplewood and White Bear, Minnesota. He remains a health care policy adviser for The Heartland Institute. Mr. Racer is an active member of the First Evangelical Free Church of Maplewood, Minnesota where he participates in the music worship program on a variety of levels.

Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Racer has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his immediate circles. During the celebration of America’s bicentennial, Mr. Racer served as the president and chairman of the Constitution Educational Foundation. In 1996, he became the founding president of the Declaration Foundation. Notably, he was recruited as the national campaign manager for Alan Keyes for President in 1996, which he considers among his crowning achievements.

Mr. Racer’s writing career began with his first book, “Smokie’s Last Job,” in 1986. The total of books he has now authored, co-authored, edited and/or published is approaching 60. From 1986 to 2000, he published a monthly newspaper, Dave Racer’s Minnesota Report. He began hosting his own talk radio show in 1991, taking a break for the Alan Keyes campaign, and returning to the air in 1998. He left the radio in 2000.

Mr. Racer has been affiliated with such organizations as the National Federation of Independent Business, the Minnesota Physician-Patient Alliance, the Board of Human Life Alliance, and the National Association of Health Underwriters. Considering his impressive undertakings, Mr. Racer has been honored on multiple occasions, including recognition as the Airman of the Month in 1969 at Amarillo Air Force Base, and as a Top Teacher of the Year in 2023.

Having discovered his natural talent for teaching early in his career, Mr. Racer is incredibly proud to see parents seek out his unique approach to education for their children as it enables him to continue making a positive impact in his field. He has attributed his success to his longstanding career, his ongoing connection to his former students, his unwavering belief in Christ, and the encouragement and support of his wife and children. Looking toward the future, Mr. Racer hopes to continue educating future generations, including the children and younger siblings of former students.
