Ms. Dodd takes great pride in the grant she received from the Indiana Arts Commission, which enabled her to incorporate hands-on art activities into the curriculum. By collaborating with a local artist, she and her students explored needle felting within their Transcendentalism Unit, focusing on nature themes. This innovative approach proved so successful that the Indiana Arts Commission produced a video highlighting their work. In the coming years, Ms. Dodd and her partner plan to relocate to Tennessee upon retirement. She is also considering teaching online programs, providing tutoring services, and continuing work on her book. Her advice to aspiring professionals is to build personal connections with students, as these connections are crucial for helping them fully grasp the importance of their learning.
