Tyrone E. Wise, II, assistant director at boost@BerkeleyHaas, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academia.

With nearly a decade and a half of experience, Mr. Wise has established a successful career in education. He currently serves as assistant director of Boost@BerkeleyHaas at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, a role he has held since 2023, and has been chief executive officer of Wise Concoction LLC since 2019. His previous roles include associate director of student life and leadership development for the full-time MBA program at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business from 2019 to 2023, commandant at California State University Maritime Academy from 2016 to 2019, and graduate intern for student conduct and community standards at the University of the Pacific from 2015 to 2016. Additionally, he worked as an evaluator and Pacific ambassador at the University of the Pacific from 2012 to 2015. Laying a strong educational foundation, he earned associate degrees in psychology, social sciences, and elementary education teacher preparation, followed by a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of the Pacific in 2014 and a Master of Education in education administration and leadership in 2016.

Mr. Wise also dedicates his time as chairman of the UC Berkeley Black Staff and Faculty Organization from 2020 to 2022, advisor to UC Berkeley’s NAACP Youth & College Chapter from 2020 to 2021, and vice-chair of the UC Berkeley Black Staff and Faculty Organization from 2019 to 2020. He was co-chairman of the UC Berkeley Veterans Staff Organization from 2019 to 2020 and an elected member of CSU Maritime Academy’s Unity Council from 2018 to 2020. He has also played key roles in organizing Black History Month events, co-facilitating the CSU Maritime Black History Month Committee from 2016 to 2019, and serving on the University of the Pacific Black History Month Committee from 2012 to 2016. His community service extends to his time as sergeant at arms for the American Legion from 2012 to 2014 and president of the Student Veteran Organization at the University of the Pacific from 2013 to 2014.

Throughout his career, Mr. Wise has achieved several notable accomplishments. He co-facilitated the Haas Anti-Racism Challenge at UC Berkeley since 2020 and played a pivotal role in facilitating UC Berkeley’s first virtual Black History Month, featuring a virtual concert and an interactive Black History Museum. Additionally, he co-facilitated the Veteran Staff Organization’s first Memorial Day ceremony in 75 years, attended by Chancellor Carol Christ. His contributions have earned him recognition, including the SPOT Award from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business in 2021-2022, the Outstanding Team Award in 2021, and the Team Pacific Rookie of the Year Award in 2013. Selected among the Top 100 Under 50 by Diversity MBA Magazine in 2024, he was also named Pacific Ambassador Rookie of the Year by Courtney Buljan. In the coming years, he looks forward to continuing his impactful work and aspires to become vice president of student affairs, where he can further influence and mentor the next generation of leaders.
