Dr. Rhonda C. Williams, associate professor at the University of Central Oklahoma, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in forensic biology.

With 17 years of experience to her credit, Dr. Williams has excelled as associate professor at the University of Central Oklahoma since 2021. She began her career as a DNA analyst at the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences from 2006 to 2014. She worked as a professor at ICDC College from 2011 to 2015 and at the University of Phoenix from 2009 to 2018. She established herself as an auditor at the National Forensic Science Technology Center from 2009 to 2021. Concurrently, she served as a senior criminalist at the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation from 2014 to 2021, a DNA analyst for Forensics since 2006, and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Central Oklahoma from 2014 to 2021.

Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Williams pursued an education at The University of Oklahoma where she earned a Bachelor of Sciences in biochemistry in 2000. She continued her academic efforts at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, graduating with a Master of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology in 2003 and a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology in 2006. She holds a ABC-Fellow certification from the United Latino Students Association.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Dr. Williams has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She was a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. In addition to her primary vocation, she remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors, Inc., and a fellow with the American Board of Criminalistics.

In light of her impressive undertakings, Dr. Williams has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was presented with the Women in STEM Award by The Journal Record in 2023.
