After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in geology, Ms. Chamberlain continued her education with a MS in adult education with an emphasis in diversity from SUNY Buffalo State College in 2006. She provided superior service with the United States Geological Survey for two years and tutored English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. Since 2016, she has excelled as a senior technical assistant and online concierge with Monroe Community College in Rochester, working closely with the transitional studies department as well as the math and English departments and running a writing math and psychology centers as well as a computer lab.
Keenly enthusiastic about helping her community, Ms. Chamberlain has volunteered in her local church and in Immigration and Naturalization Classes, Port Carson and as a supervisor with Army Community Services in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Ms. Chamberlain’s involvement with her profession began with a professor in the English as a Second Language Department at Monroe, who asked her if she wanted to tutor ESL students, which she accepted. She had been tutoring immigrants and teaching ESL when her husband was in the military at the different bases where they were stationed. She started working for Monroe Community College in 1983 and has been with the institution since then. Ms. Chamberlain is fluent in French, German and American Sign Language and is a martial arts black belt.
