Prior to teaching, Mr. Lupo was the owner of Astro’s Pizza and Felice’s Restaurant in the Hamptons. After 52 years of operation, he decided to sell the family business in 2014 to pursue other endeavors. He received his education from Dowling College, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2009, a Master of Business Administration in 2011 and a Master of Education in secondary education and teaching in 2013. He attributes his success to the values and work ethic imparted to him by his family and the high expectations he sets for himself and others.
Looking to the future, Mr. Lupo aspires to continue teaching and become a leader in the realm of educational policy. He aims to make a national impact by improving educational experiences for special education students in the classroom and beyond and is eager to be involved in shaping future policies in this area. His commitment to education reform is bolstered by his experience in curriculum writing, having developed materials across various subjects. In addition, he is involved with nonprofits such as the LuMind IDSC Foundation and the Council for Exceptional Children to provide advocacy for special education students.
