Sean Hastings, Assistant Athletic Director at Saint John’s High School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators or dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.

With 30 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Hastings has excelled as a teacher since 1999 at Saint John’s High School prior to being appointed to the role of dean of students from 2019 to 2021, and assistant athletic director in 2021. He began his career as a work conditioning specialist at Fallon Clinic from 1993 to 1998. He subsequently served as a teacher at St. Mary’s High School from 1998 to 1999.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Hastings pursued an education at Southeastern Massachusetts University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1991. He concluded his academic efforts at Springfield College, obtaining a Master of Science in movement sciences in 1997. He is likewise certified as a strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. 

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Hastings has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. Under his administration, the high school football team provides and delivers dinner to veterans at a local shelter. In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Hastings remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He contributes as the assistant head football coach and coordinator for the football team, and coaches middle school basketball and baseball. Moreover, he remains a dedicated freshman biology teacher.

Mr. Hastings impressive commitment to his school has resulted in recognition for himself and new initiatives for the student body. During conference games for each of the school’s teams, he performs outreach to establish relationships with new schools with whom they could compete. He coordinates for the middle school athletics department, manages uniform drop-off and pick-up, and dedicates his time and attention to designing and ordering hockey, football, and basketball uniforms. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was active in his student’s lives as a mentor. Due to his exemplary performance as an educator and leader, the school celebrates his contributions and achievements every five years. 

In the immediate future, Mr. Hastings intends to help establish Saint John’s High School as one of the top schools in the state by building a strong athletic program, adding new sports, and expanding the middle school athletic offerings. He also intends to continue actively pursuing board positions within the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.
