Scott Douglas Miller, Athletic and Activities Director at Kellogg School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in sports.

With nearly 40 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Miller has excelled as the athletic and activities director for Kellogg School District since 2023. He began his career as an assistant wrestling coach at Eastern Washington University from 1986 to 1989, followed by three years in the same role at Springfield College. He then served as head wrestling coach at Campbell University from 1990 to 1998 before transitioning to the same role at Syracuse University from 1998 to 2001. Mr. Miller went on to work as the coach and director of wrestling at Pacific University from 2002 to 2008. In 2009, Mr. Miller became the wrestling coach at Kellogg High School, a position he retains to this day. A certified park and recreation professional, a victim’s advocate, and an emotional regulator, Mr. Miller was additionally active as a pre-sentence reporter at ACES Community Services from 2009 to 2017. 

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Miller pursued an education at Eastern Washington University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in adapted physical education in 1989. He continued his academic efforts at Springfield College, receiving his Master of Education in athletic administration in 1990. He concluded his studies in 2002 at Washington State University, completing his doctoral coursework in education leadership and sports management. 

Beyond these accomplishments, Mr. Miller possesses multiple certifications and memberships, including his certification in anger management by the American Psychiatric Association, and as a psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner and provider by the American Psychiatric Association. He is a member of the National Anger Management Association, the Idaho Wrestling Coaches Association, and the National Wrestling Coaches Association. Mr. Miller likewise found success as the former president of the Kellogg Booster Club, and author of “Chance of Precipitation” in 2020 and “Rebecca” in 2021. In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Miller has accrued several accolades, including numerous Coach of the Year awards, and was named Women’s Coach of the Year by the National College Wrestling Association.
