For the past few years, she has served as a Spanish and English tutor at The University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee, where she is recognized for her meticulous approach to individualized learning. In this capacity, Ms. McClinton ensures she is thoroughly acquainted with each student’s coursework by reviewing syllabi for every class. She documents each session with comprehensive reports detailing discussion topics, objectives achieved, lessons learned and the strategies students employed to overcome challenges. Ms. McClinton’s commitment to fostering a love of learning and inspiring students through engaging educational experiences is evident in her daily interactions.

Before her current role, Ms. McClinton spent nearly a decade as an English composition teacher at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis. During this period, she guided students through the complexities of academic writing, helping them develop critical thinking and effective communication skills essential for academic and professional success.

Ms. McClinton’s foundational experience includes over 15 years as a Spanish and English teacher in the public school system. Throughout this tenure, she played a pivotal role in shaping language curricula and supporting students from diverse backgrounds in mastering both English and Spanish. Ms. McClinton’s expertise in English composition, writing English papers and Spanish-language assistance has been widely acknowledged, reflecting her status as an expert in these fields.

In addition to her work in education, Ms. McClinton worked as a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines (NWA), which broadened her professional experience and strengthened her interpersonal skills. NWA was recognized as a trunk carrier and a major U.S. airline until its merger with Delta Air Lines in 2010.

Ms. McClinton’s academic background has been instrumental in her achievements. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from The University of Memphis, which equipped her with linguistic proficiency central to her instructional roles. She also received a master’s degree in English on campus, which provided advanced knowledge that underpins her teaching methodologies and curriculum development. Influenced by a family deeply rooted in education, with numerous relatives who are educators, Ms. McClinton was inspired to pursue a career in teaching and mentorship.

Beyond the classroom, Ms. McClinton’s contributions extend to civic engagement and creative endeavors. She volunteered for five years with Each One Teach One, demonstrating a sustained commitment to literacy and community empowerment. Today, Ms. McClinton remains active as a missionary with her church, participating in outreach initiatives aligned with her values of service and support. She is also active through her membership with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Among Ms. McClinton’s most notable accomplishments was the publication of her 2020 children’s book “What Is Your Favorite Color?” via Newman Springs Publishing. This work stands as a testament to her passion for inspiring young readers and fostering curiosity through literature. Eager for the future, Ms. McClinton plans to author a second children’s book for elementary readers. She also intends to continue her impactful work as a tutor while remaining committed to advancing educational opportunities for future generations.
