Since 2011, he has owned MYLDT LLC and has led MyLD Tutor as the founder and learning specialist. Over the course of over a decade, he has developed a reputation for his ability to analyze each student holistically, focusing on their unique processing styles and executive functioning abilities. His expertise encompasses teaching a wide range of subjects while tailoring instruction to meet individual needs. Mr. Korfhage-Poret’s commitment to individualized education is evident in his work with students who often struggle within traditional academic settings, helping these students gain confidence and achieve academic success while empowering them to become independent learners.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Korfhage-Poret launched Lotus Writing Tutors while managing the University Writing Center at The New School University. This dual role enabled him to refine his instructional techniques and expand his reach to middle and high school students preparing for standardized assessments, such as the SAT, ACT and the New York Regents Examinations. Through this experience, Mr. Korfhage-Poret developed a blend of traditional and original teaching methods that have proven effective for diverse learners. During this tenure, he also co-authored the study guide “LD SAT,” which provides targeted test preparation strategies for students with learning disabilities. This resource became widely respected among educators.

Mr. Korfhage-Poret’s professional journey also included collaborations with several tutoring organizations in New York City specializing in support for students with learning disabilities, most notably EBL Coaching. Additionally, he has served as a homeschool teacher, guiding students across all subjects and helping them rebuild trust in themselves and the educational system.

In preparation for his future, Mr. Korfhage-Poret earned a Bachelor of Arts in writing from The New School in New York City in 2006. He also pursued coursework in education at Brooklyn College and Tulane University. Mr. Korfhage-Poret attributes his achievements to a lifelong passion for learning and exploration, emphasizing experiential education as a driving force behind his professional philosophy.

Throughout his career, Mr. Korfhage-Poret has remained focused on advocating for children with learning challenges. He believes that emerging technologies hold promise for addressing gaps left by standardized educational systems.
