Mitchell Fillet, Assistant Professor of the Professional Practice of Finance at the Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership.

Mr. Fillet has been teaching finance and economics at nationally ranked business schools since 1980.  At the same time, he created a successful career at various global investment banks that lead to positions in management. He has taught a wide range of business courses from Managerial Accounting at New York University to Finance and Entrepreneurship at Fordham University and Finance and Investments at Columbia University. He has worked at Yale University and Rutgers University as a part-time lecturer but is now a full member of the Finance and Economics faculty at Rutgers Business School, where he teaches economics, finance and investments. He has published numerous articles about a wide range of topics including acting as the Senior Editor of Distressions, a global investment newsletter marketed to the high-yield fixed-income community while publishing a weekly economics commentary in that publication.

Mr. Fillet is also a leading proponent of online education, having created and delivered online courses in a variety of finance topics at both Columbia University and Rutgers University.  Due to his use of both online and hybrid course structures, Mr. Fillet has taught in four different countries including Germany and Russia as well as China and the United States. He is currently a member of the faculty of the RUNIN program, which is a partnership between Rutgers University and Northeast Normal University in Changchun, China. Mr. Fillet holds a Bachelor of Arts from Boston University and an MBA from The Stern School of New York University. He has completed advanced courses in operations at both The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania and The Ross School of Business at The University of Michigan.

Mr. Fillet also completed a corporate leadership coaching certificate at The Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork program at Babson College in Massachusetts in 2015 and in 2018, Effective Teaching Practices, an advanced teaching methods course jointly sponsored by the Association of College and University Educators, the Association of College Educators and Rutgers University. Mr. Fillet has also been a volunteer teacher for The Diocese of Bridgeport, Connecticut where he taught religion to Junior High School students in an after-school program at one of the parishes in Greenwich, CT.
