Dr. Khoury is distinguished for his contributions to education for over 20 years. His diverse background and expertise presently include serving as a senior contributing faculty member at Walden University in Minneapolis since 2013 and as an educational diagnostician at Prosper Independent School District since 2018. Dr. Khoury has also been a technical director and Frisco division director at Nationals FFC, a premier competitive youth flag football club, since 2024.

Among a myriad of responsibilities at Proper Independent School District, Dr. Khoury diagnoses students with disabilities and oversees their programs and activities. He is also tasked with compliance with whichever schools help run the program. Furthermore, he develops curriculum, assists with various special education needs, and teaches and trains special educators.

Dr. Khoury began his career in education as a special education teacher at Lake Dallas Independent School District in 2004 before teaching in the same capacity at Denton Independent School District from 2005 to 2011. He subsequently became an assessment specialist III at Fort Worth Independent School District between 2011 and 2012, an educational diagnostician at Anna Independent School District from 2012 to 2014, a testing specialist at Lewisville Independent School District between 2014 and 2016, and an educational diagnostician at Frisco Independent School District until 2018.

Possessing a rich educational background, Dr. Khoury received a Bachelor of Science in sports management from North Carolina State University in 2004, followed by a Master of Education in special education and teaching in 2005 and a Doctor of Philosophy in special education in 2014 from the University of North Texas. In addition to his formal education, Dr. Khoury received credentials as an educational diagnostician in 2009 and a principal in 2015 through the Texas Education Agency. He also garnered an Introduction to Python designation through Coursera in 2024, a sports and society credential through Duke University in 2024, and a certification in the science of training young athletes through the University of Florida in 2025.

Besides his work-related commitments, Dr. Khoury has volunteered for various causes, such as the Phoenix Project. He has also served on multiple committees, including the advisory council and as the associate dean of the advisory council at his alma mater, Walden University. Moreover, Dr. Khoury has also been instrumental as the co-leader for the college of education’s diversity, equality and inclusion team on campus and through his work on the council inclusive teaching and learning advisory council.

Dr. Khoury’s success has earned him numerous accolades. He received a Faculty Excellence Award from Walden University and an Educator of the Year accolade from Prosper Independent School District’s special education department. Additionally, he was nominated for a National Autism Association of North Texas Appreciation Award.

Above the numerous accolades, Dr. Khoury is grateful for his ability to serve as a resource for special education students and help correct struggling programs. Throughout his career, he has been a reliable and knowledgeable professional who has always been able to turn around programs that are not doing well. Recognized in the field as a problem solver, Dr. Khoury has typically been assigned to schools with problematic programs or systems, where he spends several years making changes and improvements before moving on to the next school. Ultimately, his goal has been to leave every program or school in better shape than when he arrived.
