With 25 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Lee has excelled as the interim vice president of academic affairs at Southwestern Christian University since 2023. Reporting directly to the president, he is responsible for supervising all undergraduate and graduate academic operations, including curriculum development, instructional programs, educational policy, and academic resources. Dr. Lee’s leadership in this role fosters collaboration between curricular and co-curricular divisions, aligning with the aforementioned university’s mission and vision.

Furthermore, Dr. Lee has been distinguished as professor emeritus at Southern Nazarene University since 2019. From 2018 to 2023, he was active as the chair of the department of social and behavioral sciences at Southwestern Christian University. Dr. Lee previously found success in a number of positions at Southern Nazarene University, including as associate registrar from 1999 to 2001, an adjunct professor from 1999 to 2007, registrar from 2001 to 2008, an assistant professor in the Center for Student Success from 2008 to 2013, and an associate professor in the Center for Student Success from 2013 to 2018.

To support his professional ambitions, Dr. Lee initially earned a Bachelor of Science in biology with minors in psychology and physics from Southern Nazarene University in 1997, studying under the E. Shannon Boyd Memorial Science Scholarship during this time. He continued his education at Southern Nazarene University with a Master of Science in counseling psychology in 1999. In 2018, he graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in health psychology from Northcentral University/National University. Moreover, Dr. Lee has obtained certifications including his license as a behavioral practitioner with the Oklahoma State Department of Health from 2002 to 2005 and as a board-certified behavior analyst from 1999 to 2009.

Dr. Lee’s impressive achievements are complemented by his stellar contributions to literature and research. Notably, he has co-authored two books and contributed to eleven research articles, presenting his work at national and international conferences. Dr. Lee’s dedication to mental health workshops and involvement with organizations like the Oklahoma City chapter of Kiwanis International and the Salvation Army underscore his commitment to community service, which he shares with his spouse, Esther.

Dr. Lee’s accolades include being recognized as the Honorary President of the Association of Cognitive Psychotherapy and Clinical Psychology in 2022. He previously received the Faculty Service Award from Southwestern Christian University in 2019. He was additionally honored as the Manager of the Year Award from Southern Nazarene University in 2004 and presented with the Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award from Southwestern Christian University in 2015. Likewise, Dr. Lee was inducted into such honor societies as the Golden Key International Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta, and Psi Chi.

Attributing his success to his steadfast faith in God and the strong values instilled within him during his youth in a working-class household, Dr. Lee is renowned among his students and colleagues for his caring nature and dedication to personal growth. A native of Baton Rouge, he draws inspiration from influential authors like John Maxwell and Stan Toler as a burgeoning author. Looking toward the future, Dr. Lee plans to pen future publications focused on maintaining balance as a higher education professional while overcoming obstacles and highlighting his faith-based perspective.
