With an extensive academic and professional background to her credit, Dr. Osisioma has excelled as a professor at California State University, Dominguez Hills, since 2004. She initially embarked upon her professional path at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where she obtained a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in physical sciences in 1982. She subsequently began her career at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, where she served as a professor from 1990 to 1997. During this time, she concluded her formal studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, graduating in 1995 with a Doctor of Philosophy in science education with a concentration in general and science teacher education. Dr. Osisioma was later active as a professor of science education in the Los Angeles Unified School District from 1998 to 2000 prior to her present position.

Dr. Osisioma has found success with her written works as well, having recently authored “Intermittent Fasting for Women Over 50: Reset Your Metabolism, Lose Weight, Boost Your Energy, Improve Memory, and Enjoy a Healthy Life” in 2023, which reflects her commitment to promoting health and wellness. Her involvement with organizations such as Bible League International, Samaritan’s Birthday, World Vision, and Smile demonstrates her dedication to civic engagement and community service. She is also affiliated with a number of prominent organizations in her field, including the National Association of Research in Science Teaching, the National Science Teachers Association, the Association of Teacher Educators, and the Association for Science Teacher Education. In addition to her primary responsibilities, Dr. Osisioma has provided her wealth of knowledge to those in her native country of Nigeria as a professor at the University of Science and Technology in Ifaki-Ekiti from 2009 to 2010 and as a Fulbright fellow, the latter of which enabled her to contribute to educational reform and professional development programs.

Dr. Osisioma attributes her success to the grace of God, the crucial support that she received during her journey to the U.S., and her resilience in overcoming challenges such as racism and microaggressions. As a Black woman with an accent and education from another country, she faced numerous obstacles but remained steadfast and unshakeable to reach the highest level in her profession. She is incredibly proud to have managed to balance her demanding career with raising four children and caring for her ill husband for more than 20 years. Looking toward the future, Dr. Osisioma hopes to maintain her health and well-being while continuing her work in education and advocacy as she strives to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others through both learning and community action.
