Currently, he is the assistant director at Maury County School District in Columbia, Tennessee, a position he has held since 2022. In this role, he oversees various administrative functions and ensures the smooth operation of the school district. Prior to this position, he served as a school administrator for the Giles County Board of Education in 2022. From 1990 to 2003, he was a high school English teacher and football coach, roles that helped him build strong relationships with students and manage challenging behaviors effectively. This experience proved invaluable as he transitioned into administration, first as an assistant principal, then as a principal, and ultimately into district administration.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Stacey pursued an education at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), earning a bachelor’s degree in health, physical education, and English in 1990. He continued his academic efforts at MTSU, obtaining a Master of Education in 1995. In addition to his primary vocation, he has been affiliated with various organizations, including the Tennessee Education Association, the National Education Association, and the Tennessee Association of School Personnel Administrators.
Mr. Stacey attributes his success to the strong foundation laid by his parents, who encouraged him to contribute positively to society and consistently set high expectations for himself. His passion for helping people led him to a career in education, where he could best utilize his skills and personality. In the coming years, he aims to transition from his current job to a consulting role, allowing him more control over his time and enabling him to provide services to educators. Additionally, he looks forward to traveling more and undertaking bicycle trips across the country. Having recently earned his certification to instruct teachers, district leaders, and school leaders in classroom management, he is keen to further train educational professionals. He emphasizes the growing importance of advanced behavioral management skills, particularly in the current educational climate.
