Previously, she served as a research fellow at the Fox Chase Cancer Center from 1999 to 2001, where she contributed to significant advancements in cancer treatment research.

Dr. Wang began her career as a dedicated student, pursuing her academic interests in theoretical chemistry at Iowa State University. Before embarking on her professional path, she continued her efforts with a Master of Science in chemistry from Iowa State University in 1995 and concluded her studies with a PhD in biochemistry and biophysics from Stony Brook University in 1999. Following these accomplishments, she completed her postdoctoral work as a visiting professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2014.

Over the years, Dr. Wang has conducted experiments in molecular cloning, cellular assays, protein expression and purification, spectroscopic techniques, mass spectrometry, x-ray crystallography, and circular dichroism in the field of interdisciplinary research. She emphasizes the importance of adopting a growth mindset, learning from mistakes, and finding strength in embracing challenges. She is committed to promoting increased engagement in STEM education, supporting diversity and inclusion in the science community, and fostering a scientific culture where every voice is welcome, heard, and respected.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Dr. Wang has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She has maintained involvement in professional organizations such as Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society, and the American Chemical Society. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was recognized as a Beckman Fellow at the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation and was presented with a Certificate of Merit from The Society of Illustrators for her outstanding contributions to the field of biochemistry. Her dedication to advancing the field of chemistry and biochemistry has earned her recognition as a leading figure in her field.
