Ms. Lopus has amassed over two decades of experience in the field of education, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to fostering the academic and personal growth of her students. Notably, she served as a business education teacher at Northern Valley Regional High School from 2004 to 2023, where she established herself as a dedicated and innovative educator. Prior to this, she honed her teaching skills as a business teacher at Lenape Valley Regional High School from 1999 to 2004. Her passion for education extended beyond the high school level, as she also contributed to higher education as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University from 1999 to 2000. She began her teaching career at Belleville Township High School District 201 as a business teacher from 1998 to 1999, followed by a role as a teacher of English at Mount St. Dominic Academy from 1997 to 1998.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ms. Lopus has made significant contributions to the community and extracurricular activities. She founded and served as the adviser for the Black Student History and Culture Club in 2022, providing students with a supportive environment to explore and celebrate diversity. Furthermore, she dedicated her time as a volunteer for the Junior League of Montclair Newark Inc., NJ, since 1999, exemplifying her commitment to community service.
In addition to her extensive career in education, Ms. Lopus has a solid academic background that has equipped her with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in her field. She earned a Master of Arts in secondary education and teaching from Seton Hall University in 1998. Prior to this, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in finance, insurance, and business law, with a minor in English, from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1991. Complementing her academic achievements, she also holds a certificate in business education, English, and instruction supervision from the Office of Fiscal Accountability and Compliance, New Jersey Department of Education, underscoring her commitment to continuous professional development and excellence in teaching.
Ms. Lopus attributes her success to her mother, whose unwavering support and encouragement propelled her forward in her career. Among her career highlights, she takes pride in coaching her students to win prestigious awards in DECA competitions and founding the Black History and Culture Club. Looking ahead, she envisions a future filled with leisure activities such as cruising, golfing, and spending quality time with loved ones. She aspires to teach at the college level, drawing upon her wealth of knowledge and experience to inspire the next generation of learners. With her strong leadership, passion for education, and dedication to student success, she continues to make a profound impact in the field of education.
