Scott Stripling, Provost, Professor, and Vice President of Donor Relations at The Bible Seminary, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Archaeology and Biblical Studies.

Dr. Stripling earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (1984) in Physical Education and English and a Master of Arts degree (1988) in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Texas. Additionally, he earned a Master of Arts degree (1995) in Biblical Literature from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Philosophy degree (2020) in Archaeology and Biblical History from Veritas International University.

Dr. Stripling’s career as an educator spans forty years. Notably, he was a co-founder of Covenant Christian Academy in McAllen, Texas and served as its principal from 1999–2001. Following this, he served as the founding president for the Make-A-Wish© Foundation of the Rio Grande Valley. From 2007–2016, Dr. Stripling taught Humanities at Wharton County Junior College. His leadership roles there included Department Head for Humanities and Foreign Languages and President of the Faculty Association. In 2016, The Bible Seminary recruited Dr. Stripling to assume the role of provost, in which capacity he oversees the institution’s entire academic program. Additionally, he teaches occasional courses and cultivates donor relations.

Concomitant with his academic duties, Dr. Stripling is a leader in archaeological research. He serves as the Director of Excavations for the Associates for Biblical Research at Khirbet el-Maqatir and Shiloh. Under his leadership the Shiloh excavation has become the largest dig in the Middle East. Dr. Stripling has published numerous books and peer-reviewed articles and serves as president of the Near East Archaeological Society.

Dr. Stripling considers his greatest accomplishments to be guiding The Bible Seminary to an accredited status and building the largest excavation in the Middle East. His focus in the coming years is to establish permanent facilities and doctoral programs for The Bible Seminary and to conclude and publish the Shiloh excavation.
