Sidney “Skip” Redd, adjunct professor at Amberton University and Dallas Baptist University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in higher education.

With 31 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Redd has excelled as an adjunct professor at Amberton University since 2015 and at Dallas Baptist University since 2013. He began his career as communication arts department chair and director of media services at Southwestern Assemblies of God University from 1998 to 2011. He established himself as an adjunct professor at Navarro College from 2011 to 2012. He found success as a faculty member at Life School Red Oak Secondary from 2012 to 2023.

Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Redd pursued an education at Evangel University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in sacred music in 1976. He continued his academic efforts at the University of Colorado Boulder, obtaining a Master of Music Education in 1979. At Regent University, he concluded his studies, graduating with a master’s degree in communication in 1993 and a PhD in communication arts in 2008.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Dr. Redd has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He held the role of executive pastor at University Church and associate pastor at Cornerstone Church. He contributed to various community theaters, charities for children, and a support group for autism.

In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. Redd has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was recognized as teacher of the year at Life High School Waxahachie and district secondary teacher of the year at Life School of Dallas in 2019. A yearbook was dedicated to him as the students hold him in high regard for his distinctive methodology and for deviating from the usual practices of a denominational school in an innovative and unique manner. In the immediate future, he aspires to share his personal experiences and inspire his students.
