Juergen Rauleder, PhD, professor of Vertical Lift Aeromechanics at Georgia Institute of Technology, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in aerospace engineering education.
Dr. Rauleder began his career as a research assistant at the Institute of Aerospace Thermodynamics, affiliated with the University of Stuttgart, from 2005 to 2006. Following this, he served as an intern at the Department of Heat Transfer and Combustion at MTU Aero Engines from 2006 to 2007 and subsequently completed a traineeship at Corporate Sector Research and Advanced Engineering at Robert Bosch from 2007 to 2009. Dr. Rauleder then continued his research pursuits as a researcher at the Institute of Aerospace Thermodynamics at the University of Stuttgart in Germany in 2009. His professional journey also includes a role as a helicopter aerodynamics engineer at the University of Maryland from 2009 to 2014. More recently, he worked as an assistant professor of rotorcraft and VTOL aerodynamics at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, between 2015 and 2020. After an invitation to apply for a professorship at the Georgia Institute of Technology, he returned to the United States in 2020 and presently contributes his expertise as a professor of vertical lift aeromechanics.
Dr. Rauleder attributed his success to his unwavering commitment, hard work, and passion for the aerospace industry. He utilized these assets to earn a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the Unversity of Stuttgart in 2010. He subsequently obtained a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland in 2014 and achieved success as a post-doctoral fellow at the Technical University of Munich between 2014 and 2015. In the coming years, he intends to continue educating students, publishing additional research, and having a bigger impact in his field. When he is not working, he dedicates his time and attention to swimming and running.
