Dr. Sundaram has established an illustrious career spanning over three decades, commencing with his pursuit of a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting from PSG College of Arts and Science in 1982, followed by a Master of Communication in accounting in 1984. He continued his academic endeavors, earning a Master of Business Administration from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1986. His educational journey culminated with a Doctor of Business Administration in accounting and finance from the same university in 1990.

Dr. Sundaram’s professional journey commenced in academia as a professor of finance at Grand Valley State University, where he contributed significantly from 2001 to 2016. His roles expanded progressively, assuming positions such as chair of the finance department from 2006 to 2013, academic director of the full-time integrated MBA program from 2011 to 2013, and culminating in the role of associate dean from 2013 to 2016. Subsequently, Dr. Sundaram served as the dean of the Kate Tiedemann College of Business at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg from 2016 to 2020 and continued this tenure as dean of the Kate Tiedemann School of Business and Finance at the University of South Florida in 2020-2021. Presently, he holds the esteemed position of dean at the College of Business and Economics at California State University, Fullerton, since 2021.

Outside of academia, Dr. Sundaram has contributed extensively to various organizations, serving on boards and executive positions, including the Orange County United Way, Orange County Goodwill, Beta Alpha Psi, and the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce. His leadership roles in these organizations exemplify his dedication to education innovation and commitment to community engagement. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Sundaram has advocated for advancing higher education to build stronger ties between industry and academia. His passion for research, combined with a dedication to serving a diverse student body, has been a guiding force in his professional journey.
