Brock A. Zehr, DBA, associate professor of business and economics and MBA director at Huntington University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business education.
With nearly 20 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Zehr has excelled as an associate professor of business and economics and the MBA director at Huntington University since 2015. He initiated his association with the same as an adjunct business faculty member from 2009 to 2014. He began his career as a banker at Fort Wayne National Bank from 1986 to 1993. He worked as assistant vice president at Professional Federal Credit Union from 1994 to 1995 before transitioning to the role of quality control analyst at Waterfield Financial from 1995 to 1999. At Advance Settlement Funding Service, Inc., he contributed as president from 1999 to 2012.
Dr. Zehr established himself as a mortgage lender at various mortgage companies between 2001 and 2009 before being recruited as a business instructor at the University of Phoenix from 2009 to 2014. He contributed as an adjunct business faculty member at Indiana Wesleyan University from 2010 to 2014 and at Ivy Tech Community College from 2011 to 2014.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Zehr pursued an education at Anderson University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and management, summa cum laude, in 1986. He continued his academic efforts at Indiana Wesleyan University, graduating with a Master of Business Administration in accounting in 2009. He concluded his studies at Walden University, graduating in 2016 with a Doctorate of Business Administration in entrepreneurship in 2016.
In addition to his primary vocation, Dr. Zehr remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, the Christian Business Faculty Association, the Golden Key Honor Society, the Alpha Chi Honor Society, and held the role of chairperson for the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he served on the grants committee for the Fortitude Fund. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He received a nomination for Professor of the Year from the Golden Key International Honor Society.
In the immediate future, Dr. Zehr intends to pursue leadership roles with various organizations including the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship and the Committee on Budget, Finance, and Administration. He also has aspirations to publish a work book modeling a course he developed for non-business students who might eventually freelance in their industries like film, digital media arts, graphic design, music, et cetera. He aims to become a better educator by ensuring the success of his new MBA program and by writing additional material that prepares freelancers and independent contractors for the gig economy.
