With more than 20 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Nikman has excelled as an instructor and accountant with Lehman College since 2000. He has been additionally active as an accountant operating out of his private firm, Nikman CPA, PC, since 2005. During this time, Dr. Nikman further served as an assistant professor at the College of Mount Saint Vincent between 2015 and 2022.
To support his professional ambitions, Dr. Nikman pursued an education at the City University of New York, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting, magna cum laude. He continued his academic efforts with a Master of Business Administration from Walden University in 2006. He concluded his studies at Sacred Heart University in 2016, graduating with a Doctor of Business Administration in accounting and finance. In addition to these accomplishments, Dr. Nikman became certified as a global management accountant as well as a certified public accountant by the New York Department of Education.
Beyond his primary responsibilities within the field, Dr. Nikman has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his immediate circles. Dedicated to his community, he has contributed to various foundations and nonprofit organizations as a volunteer accountant. Moreover, Dr. Nikman has been affiliated with The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), through which he remains up-to-date with the latest developments in his discipline.
Dr. Nikman attributes his success to his luck as well as his steadfast commitment to performing his duties and doing the right thing. Harboring a lifelong interest in mathematics, he was drawn to accounting at the age of 12, and has been driven by his firm belief that accounting education can help the next generation with themselves and their families in the future. Among his many achievements, he is incredibly proud of garnering his CPA license as well as his MBA and doctorate. In the coming years, Dr. Nikman hopes to remain as connected as he can while adapting to new technologies that he can utilize in his practice and in the classroom.
