Oral B. Grant, PhD, Adjunct Professor at Prince George’s Community College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mathematics.

With over 10 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Grant has excelled as adjunct professor at Prince George’s Community College since 2022. He began his career as an eighth-grade teacher in Brooklyn, New York before working as an educational consultant for District of Columbia Public Schools. He went on to contribute as an educator at Alice Deal Middle School, Friendship Public Charter School, and Hope Community Charter School. 

Dr. Grant completed an internship with the University System of Maryland from 2014 to 2015 before establishing himself as an education professional, mathematics educator and consultant with the District of Columbia Public Schools from 2017 to 2020. He found success as a mathematician at DC School since 2011 and as the owner of FullTone Photography, Love Mom LLC since 2013. He has served as a secondary teacher at Kelly Miller Middle School since 2023 and is a math coach at Prince George’s County.

Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Grant pursued an education at Stony Brook University, the State University of New York where he earned a Bachelor of Science in secondary education and teaching and in mathematical statistics and probability in 2003, a Master of Science in information technology in 2004, and a Master of Science in educational leadership and administration in 2008. He concluded his studies at Howard University and graduated with a PhD in educational psychology in 2020. He holds a certification in initial educator from the New York City Department of Education.

In addition to his primary vocation, Dr. Grant remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated and a senior steward of the Masons. He contributed as a graduate student representative for the American Educational Research Association from 2015 to 2016.

In light of his impressive undertakings, Dr. Grant has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He successfully defended his dissertation titled “An Exploratory Study on Black Male Educators’ Implementation of Culturally Relevant Practices based on Personal and Environmental Factors” during his doctoral studies at Howard University and was the first African-American student to assume the role of senior representative for the student body within Division H of the American Educational Research Association. 

In the immediate future, Dr. Grant is eager to leverage his research to support fellow educators in achieving levels of success comparable to or exceeding his own. With his substantial engagement with inner-city youth, he possesses a skill set that he believes can empower other teachers to accomplish that.
