Alexandro Sarabia, Psychological Science Faculty and Professor at South Texas College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in psychological science.

With nearly 20 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Sarabia has excelled as psychological science professor at South Texas College since 2011. He began his association with South Texas College as a CRLA-III certified master tutor at the Center for Learning Excellence from 2006 to 2009, an assistant supervisor from 2009 to 2011, as a psychology adjunct instructor from 2011 to 2012. He established himself as a licensed professional counselor at Abundant Grace Counseling Center from 2012 to 2013 and at the Renaissance Behavioral Hospital from 2012 to 2015.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Sarabia pursued an education at South Texas College where he earned an associate of arts degree in psychology in 2007. He continued his academic efforts at the University of Texas-Pan American, now the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, graduating with bachelor degrees in psychology and sociology in 2009 and a master’s degree in clinical psychology in 2011. He holds licenses as a professional counselor and a chemical dependency counselor, certifications as an anger resolution therapist and a laughter yoga leader, and was valedictorian of his high school graduating class.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Sarabia has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He held the role of co-chair of the Starr County Campus Psychology Club of South Texas College, is host and executive producer of the YouTube series “RGV Stars,” and has written and presented numerous journal articles, papers and presentations. He volunteers in highway trash pickups, cemetery cleanups, and donates to various causes through the Psychology Club.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Sarabia remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Counseling Association, the Texas Counseling Association, the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, and the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals.

In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Sarabia has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with 10 awards including the Faculty of the Year Award from South Texas College, the Excellence Award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development, and the Valley Scholars Program Alumnus Honoree Award. In the immediate future, he intends to earn his doctorate and open his own licensed professional counselor practice in Starr County.
