John Higenbottam, PhD, Clinical Professor at The University of British Columbia Department of Psychiatry, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in neuropsychology.
Dr. Higenbottam has thrived throughout a career in healthcare leadership roles, focusing on community mental health and brain injury services. He has excelled in his role as a clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia since 2014. Preceding his professorship, he found success as the assistant dean at Douglas College between 2012 and 2014. He additionally served the Vancouver Hospital and Health Sciences Centre as the vice president between 1997 and 2002. Recently, Dr. Higenbottam was recognized as a Worldwide Humanitarian by Marquis Who’s Who.
With a passion for education, Dr. Higenbottam achieved his scholarly goals in 1972 upon obtaining his PhD in neuropsychology from the University of Victoria. He earned his Master of Arts in psychology from the University of Manitoba in 1969. His initial education garnered him a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Manitoba in 1965. Attributing his success to his education, he subsequently received certification as a health executive in 1995.
