A firm believer in the benefits of education, Dr. Garcia has dedicated his life to scholarly pursuits. In 2009, he became a part of the mathematics faculty at Dorothy Stang Popular Education Adult High School. He also worked concurrently as a research technician at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. He continued his career as a graduate student instructor at the University of Michigan from 2013 to 2015, and again in 2018. He currently contributes to Stanford University as a postdoctoral scholar in the biomedical data science department, where he began in 2020.
Dr. Garcia excelled in his studies at Oberlin College and Conservatory, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Jewish studies in 2009. In 2015, he continued his education at the Rackham Graduate School at the University of Michigan, earning a Master of Arts in anthropology. He continued his study of anthropology at the University of Michigan and graduated with a doctorate in 2020. Notably, Dr. Garcia was the recipient of a fellowship from the National Library of Medicine in 2021.
