Deborah A. Turner, Retired Music Educator at Anne Arundel County Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership.

Ms. Turner is an accomplished music educator with more than 40 years of experience to her credit. From 1979 to 2021, she was a music educator with Anne Arundel County Public Schools, after which she retired. Since 1992, she has contributed as the secretary and past president of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. Ms. Turner is also a member of Modern Music Masters, the Tri-M Music Honor Society. In the future, she hopes to mentor future music educators.

In preparation for her career, Ms. Turner attended Syracuse University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music education in 1977. For her professional accomplishments, she was the recipient of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major Award in 2008. She was also nominated for Teacher of the Year and was the recipient of the Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award. To keep abreast of her field, Ms. Turner has maintained affiliation with the Maryland Music Educators Association, which she served as past president and chair of public relations.
