For a decade prior, he was a mathematics physics educator at Lessing-Gymnasium in Berlin, Germany. With more than 20 years of experience to his credit, he began his career as a software engineer for Bytwerk in 1998. Dr. Koppitz was a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics from 2000 to 2004 and at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center from 2004 to 2006. From 2006 to 2010, he garnered further experience as a 3D visualizer of scientific data at the Zuse Institute Berlin.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Koppitz earned a Master of Science in physics from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 1996. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Potsdam with a Doctor of Philosophy in numerical relativity. For his professional excellence, he was named a Top Visualizer by NASA in 2010. To keep abreast of his career, Dr. Koppitz maintains affiliation with the American Association of Physics Teachers. In his spare time, he enjoys music and sailing.
