Patricia Gakstatter, Retired Educator at Armada Area Schools and Shaklee Business Leader, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in public education.
With 45 years of experience as an educator, Ms. Gakstatter retired in approximately 2008 after serving Armada Area Schools for 18 years. Prior to this position, she was an educator for schools in Michigan and Illinois from 1963 to 2008. During her work as an educator, Ms. Gakstatter was named Teacher of the Year. Since her retirement, she has worked as a Shaklee business leader. She has also been recognized with a Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award.
In preparation for her career in education, Ms. Gakstatter attended Siena Heights University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education. She concluded her higher education at Eastern Michigan University with a master’s degree in reading education. Ms. Gakstatter has maintained membership with the Armada Historical Society and the core committee of Community Heart & Soul. She attributes her success to having a caring heart, being open and caring for others. She considers being a member of the first elementary school in the county to be accredited by Project CARE as the highlight of her career.
