John G. Hartung, adjunct instructor at Onondaga Community College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the fields of religion and ethics.

With two decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Hartung is a proven expert in the field of education. Since 2014, he has operated as an adjunct professor at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York. Specializing in elementary philosophy, ethics and religion, he oversees various lectures and classroom management duties, in addition to providing individual student counseling as needed. Adjacent to his primary duties, Mr. Hartung has also served as an adjunct assistant professor at Le Moyne College since 2002, and he previously worked as a Christian instructor and Christian education liaison for the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Mississippi.

Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Hartung pursued a formal education, beginning with his time at Belhaven University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in biblical studies and philosophy in 1989. Continuing his academic career, he later attended the Reformed Theological Seminary and received a Master of Divinity in pastoral ministry and Christian education in 1994. He also earned a Master of Arts in philosophy at the University of Mississippi in 1997. Mr. Hartung concluded his studies at Syracuse University, where he completed coursework toward a PhD in philosophy between 1997 and 2007.

Well-regarded for his dedication to his profession, Mr. Hartung was previously recognized for establishing the Christian Colloquium at Belhaven University. Additionally, he remains active as a civic-minded citizen in his community, supporting local charities and university programs. Mr. Hartung also honorably served in the United States Air Force for several years, prior to earning an honorable discharge.

In light of his accomplished career, Mr. Hartung largely attributes much of his success to the guidance of his leaders and mentors. Accounting for his achievements, he is most notably proud to have joined the faculty at Le Moyne College, which served as a benchmark for future growth in his field. In the coming years, Mr. Hartung hopes to continue his work in the field of philosophy, in addition to possibly publishing a book or a collection of professional papers.
