Katherine Moyé, dean of elementary school students at the Urban Community School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in elementary academia.
Drawing on nearly two decades of experience, Ms. Moyé is a proven leader in the field of education. Well-versed in academic leadership, she has served as the dean of elementary school students at the Urban Community School in Cleveland, Ohio, since 2022. Prior to her current appointment, she excelled as the lead teacher at the San Francisco Day School in California from 2017 to 2022. Furthermore, she was a kindergarten teacher at The Carey School from 2015 to 2017. At the onset of her career, Ms. Moyé operated as an educator within the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (primarily the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe) between 2004 and 2006.
As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Moyé cultivated her own higher education. She attended Syracuse University, where she achieved a Bachelor of Arts in African American studies in 2004 and a Master of Education in childhood education in 2007. In addition to her academic credentials, she is also licensed in childhood education for grades one through six by the New York State Education Department. Ever committed to her professional endeavors, Ms. Moyé also remains affiliated with the Independent Schools Association of the Central States and the National Association of Independent Schools. Attributing much of her success to her passion for her profession, she is particularly proud to be able to represent children of color as a Black woman in a leading academic role.
