Ryan Sagedy, Music Teacher at Sullivan County Public School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music instruction.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Music in music education in 2018 from Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, Mr. Sagedy continued his education with a Master of Music in instrumental conducting from Messiah University in 2022. While still a student and after his graduation from Elizabethtown College, Mr. Sagedy prospered as a music camp counselor, tutor, preparatory division assistant, band and orchestra assistant, student teacher and campus tour guide.
Mr. Sagedy subsequently excelled as a music teacher with Bell Oaks Upper Elementary School in Bellmawr, New Jersey from 2018 to 2021, where he taught fifth through eighth grade band and general music and his curricula focused on piano, music theory, jazz, songwriting, music history and music appreciation. Since 2021, he has provided superior service as an elementary music teacher and band and chorus director with the Sullivan County Public School District. His numerous accolades during his studies at Elizabethtown College include the Flavia Martz Baugher Award and two Otis D. Kitchen Scholarships given by the Fine and Performing Arts Department at Elizabethtown College.
Mr. Sagedy attributes his success to his mentors. His college band director, Dr. Robert Spence, inspired him to pursue the same path in music, and he hopes to become an educator like him. In the coming years, Mr. Sagedy envisions himself growing in his current position and helping to improve the school’s music program.
