Anthony Broadnax, Director of Bands at Savannah Christian Preparatory School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music instruction.

Mr. Broadnax obtained a Bachelor of Music Education from Armstrong State University (now known as Georgia Southern University–Armstrong Campus) in Savannah in 2016. Currently, he is pursuing a master’s degree in music education at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Since 2016, Mr. Broadnax has excelled as the director of bands with Savannah Christian Preparatory School. In addition, he has served his community as minister of music and singer in local churches in Savannah, as well as a Sunday school teacher and with the community jazz band, Feed The Hungry, Savannah; as a board member with Savannah Winds Symphony and the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Association.

In recognition of his dedication and ability in music instruction and with his community, Mr. Broadnax has received many honors that include a Most Active Member Certificate from the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Association; Annie Allman Guitar Award; Outstanding Performing Student Award by the Coastal Jazz Association; District Leadership Award for Outstanding Member and State Recognized Award for Outstanding Leadership by Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

As a career highlight, Mr. Broadnax cites receiving both the District Leadership Award for Outstanding Member and the State Recognized Award for Outstanding Leadership from Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Mr. Broadnax hopes to complete his master’s degree in music education in 2023. In the coming years, he hopes to continue to build his music program at the school. It was a small program when he started teaching and it slowly developed into a medium-sized group. Furthermore, he also hopes to become a professor and teach music appreciation at a university.
