After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and elementary education in 1965 from Immaculata University in Pennsylvania, Ms. Gillen continued her education with a Master of Arts in education in the area of guidance and counseling from Villanova University in 1967. She subsequently excelled as a teacher and school guidance counselor over the course of nearly three decades in the Chester Upland School District in Pennsylvania

Ms. Gillen’s professional memberships include the American Association of University Women, Kappa Kappa Iota and Delta Kappa Gamma, the professional society for women educators. Incredibly proud of her academic achievements, she has been honored with a Marquis Who’s Who Distinguished Worldwide Humanitarian Award. Now happily retired, Ms. Gillen is looking forward to doing some traveling in the coming years while further emphasizing the importance of academic, physical, social and emotional enhancement.
