With 35 years of professional experience, Ms. Redmon-Holliday was a mathematics teacher with Christian County High School from 2005 to 2009. Prior to obtaining the role, she was a Title I mathematics teacher with Olson Middle School from 2004 to 2005, a middle school coordinator with Jordan Park School of Extended Learning from 2000 to 2004, and an educator and middle school coordinator with Webster Open School from 1983 to 2000. From 1982 to 1983, she was an educator with Special School District 1, and from 1981 to 1982 she was an instructor with the University of Minnesota. Earlier in her career, she was an educator with the Kansas City, KS, Public Schools from 1974 to 1981.
Ms. Redmon-Holliday first pursued an education with Midway Junior College, where she obtained an Associate of Arts in 1972. She continued her studies with the State University of New York, completing a Bachelor of Science in 1973. She then joined Emporia State University, earning a Master of Science in 1981. She is a member of the National Education Association, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the American Federation of Teachers, the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She has also been affiliated with the National Youth Leadership Council, the Secondary Education Task Force of Minneapolis, the Minnesota Educational Effectiveness Project, and the Minneapolis Education Association. She would like to acknowledge Mrs. Alice Matthews, Murray Kentucky High School and Dr. Trudy Cunningham, Midway College as they were two great mentors of her.
