John Clingman Munday, Professor within the School of Government at Regent University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of science education.

Devoted to environmental conservation, Dr. Munday knew he wanted to pursue a career that would allow him to share his passion with others. He has always enjoyed teaching science, and worked as an educator at the College of William and Mary before taking his talents to Regent University. He has held various roles within Regent University, such as associate dean, professor of natural sciences, and chair of the department of natural science and mathematics within the College of Art and Sciences. As a Christian, Dr. Munday has been grateful to teach at a Christian organization where he has successfully helped others understand science and its importance. Throughout his career, Dr. Munday has learned that it is of the utmost importance to seek natural truth in regards to the environment and scientific phenomena, while also considering the roles of philosophy and spirituality.

In order to further share his knowledge with others, Dr. Munday edited the works “Earth’s Catastrophic Past and Future: A Scientific Analysis of Information Channeled by Edgar Cayce,” “Earth Day: Vision for Peace, Justice, and Earth Care: My Life and Thought at Age 96,” and co-authored “Remote Sensing of the Marine Environment,” in the Manual of Remote Sensing, second edition. He has held memberships with the Hydrospheric Sciences Committee, the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the International Association for Energy Economics, the American Association of Geographers, the American Scientific Affiliation, and Sigma Xi. In preparation for his career, Dr. Munday earned a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University in 1962, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. As a testament to his success, he has been lauded with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, as well as the first edition of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
