Paul Kaminski

Col. (RET) Paul Felix Kaminski, MD, MEd

Col. (RET) Paul Felix Kaminski, MD, MEd, Medical Educator at Medical Center of Delaware, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in medicine.
Col. Kaminski became involved in his profession of medicine because his father was a stressed pharmacist and never had the money for medical school. Col. Kaminski became his surrogate and fulfilled his father’s dreams. He went into the U.S. Air Force since there was a draft law when he was in school and was drafted after his residency. He went to obstetrics/gynecology because he was always favored pediatrics and then when he was in residency, he was best suited for it. Col. Kaminski earned a Bachelor of Science from Loyola College in 1959 and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Maryland in 1963. From there, he became a resident in obstetrics/gynecology at St. Agnes Hospital until 1967. Later on, he continued with schooling, receiving a Master of Education from Pennsylvania State University in 1995.
Col. Kaminski’s career highlight that stood out the most was traveling to Europe while he was in the U.S. Air Force and was able to experience how the locals lived in Turkey and England. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1967 and advanced through grade to Colonel, making a career out of it until he retired in 1987. From there he joined Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 1987, remaining until 1995. While there, he was an assistant professor and moved up to associate professor. In 1995, he joined the Medical Center of Delaware and remained there until his retirement in 2006. He held the positions of director of the Residency Program and division director during his time there. As a testament to his success, Col. Kaminski was inducted as a member of the American College of Obstetrics/Gynecology, Association of Professors of Obstetrics/Gynecology, American Society of Colonoscopy and Cervical Pathology and the International Society of Gynecologic Pathology. He is also listed in the 25th edition of Who’s Who in the East.
