Title: Retired Elementary School Teacher
Location: Clovis, California, United States
Judy Sue Dixson, Retired Elementary School Teacher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in elementary education.
Now retired, Mrs. Dixson celebrates a career in education that spanned more than 36 years. She attributes her success to God. Throughout her tenure, she believes that God put students in her classes not only for her to make an impact in their lives academically but so that they too could teach her lessons about life. Mrs. Dixson concluded her career in 2002 as a teacher for the Manchester Gifted and Talented Education Elementary School in Fresno, CA, and as a teacher of grades 3-5 for the Fresno Unified School District. During her career, she offered her expertise in other academic endeavors including positions as a teacher leader for the California Elementary Mathematics Initiative and lead teacher for the California Science Implementation Network. For her excellence in her career, Mrs. Dixson was honored with a Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mrs. Dixson entered her profession because she enjoyed working with children. She prepared for her career by achieving a Bachelor of Arts in life science from Fresno State University in 1966 and becoming a certified teacher in the state of California. Reflecting back on her career, she says that her career highlights have been seeing her former students succeed and seeing the light in her students’ eyes when they understood what she was teaching. As she looks to the future, Mrs. Dixson intends to continue enjoying her well-deserved retirement through her hobbies of quilting and knitting, as well as participating in events with her church and friends.
