Dr. Anil Kumar Maheshwari, Professor of Management and Information Systems and Director of the Master of Business Administration Program at Maharishi International University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business education.
Dr. Maheshwari has excelled as a professor of management and information systems, in addition to being the director of the Master of Business Administration program for Maharishi International University, with which he has served since 2012. Between 2013 and 2019, he worked as an adjunct professor for many outstanding institutions, such as Colorado Technical University, Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, India, and the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong, India. In 1996, he taught as a professor at The City University in New York, a position in which he remained active until 1999. He began his professorial work with the University of Cincinnati between 1995 and 1996.
After being inspired by his maternal uncle, Dr. Maheshwari decided that his future lay in education. He fulfilled his ambitions through many years of study, including earning a Master of Arts in Vedic literature from Maharishi International University in 2020. He earned a certificate in organizational leadership from IBM in 2002. In 1995, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in management information systems from the Weatherhead School of Management, a part of Case Western Reserve University. He attended the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and graduated with a Master of Business Administration in 1983 after garnering a Bachelor of Technology in electrical engineering in 1981.
Presently, Dr. Maheshwari is involved with the Executive Leadership Team in the Management, Spirituality, and Religion Division at the Academy of Management, with which he began in 2023, and in 2021, he became a member of the Harvard Business School Alumni Association in Boston. He likewise presided as president of the Southwest Chapter of the Maheshwari Community of North America between 2004 and 2008. He also was a member of the Academy of Computing Machinery (ACM, Inc.).
Dr. Maheshwari further dedicates his time and attention to the Peter Diamandis Community as a member since 2020. As a faculty sponsor, he supported the South Asian Heritage Club at Maharishi International University in 2012. A donor to The Cows Foundation and Girl Scouts of America, he also volunteered for the United Way, IBM, and numerous community and business leadership organizations.
Dr. Maheshwari has authored 16 books and more than 40 papers. In addition, he has served as a speaker at nearly 45 presentations, conferences, and symposia. He was recognized by Maharishi International University in 2015 with the Maharishi Award. He was further distinguished with the IBM Bravo Award in 2005 and 2007.
