Tanika Beene Inlaw-Chambers, Educator and Social Advocate at U.S. Department of Education, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in early childhood education.
With years of experience to her credit, Ms. Inlaw-Chambers has excelled as an educator and social advocate with the U.S. Department of Education since 2007. She was previously served as an educator with P.S. 140, The Eagle School, for 12 years. In addition to these positions, she was active as a candidate for New York State Senate representing the Democratic Party in 2012, having discovered the incumbent representative had never been challenged throughout the entirety of his 10-year tenure. Between 2000 and 2005, she worked as an associate producer for ABC Entertainment, including for such programs as “The View” and “ABC News.” To support her professional ambitions, Ms. Inlaw-Chambers pursued an education at Purchase College, part of the State University of New York system, earning a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 1996 before graduating from Hunter College in 2007 with a Master of Science in Education.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Inlaw-Chambers has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her immediate circles. She notably contributed to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) as the past president of the Westchester County chapter. She has further volunteered as an advocate for students in the South Bronx to receive traffic lights near their school to increase safety. Ms. Inlaw-Chambers has also helped to garner laptops for students during the COVID-19 pandemic to enable remote learning and petitioned for car seats for local pre-K students.
In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Inlaw-Chambers has accrued several accolades throughout her career. In 2015, she was recognized as an Outstanding Teacher on “The Meredith Vieira Show,” an honor that included a $10,000 prize and remains the highlight of her career. Furthermore, Ms. Inlaw-Chambers was featured in Essence Magazine and was celebrated among “Diamonds in the Rough.”
The first in her family to graduate from higher education, Ms. Inlaw-Chambers has attributed her success to her determination and focus. Outside of her primary efforts, she is proud to conduct red carpet interviews for celebrities nominated for the Hollywood African Prestigious Award on an annual basis. Looking toward the future, Ms. Inlaw-Chambers hopes to eventually retire as an educator.
