With more than three decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Heitkamp is a proven expert in the field of education. Specializing in various scientific studies, he has operated as an adjunct professor at the North Dakota State College of Science since 2017. Prior to his current role, he excelled as a full-time teacher for the Lisbon High School District in North Dakota from 1992 to 2017. Adjacent to his primary professional duties as an educator, Mr. Heitkamp has also served as a referee for sports such as football, softball, baseball and basketball in his community for many years.
As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Heitkamp pursued his own formal education, earning both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in technology education and engineering at Valley City State University. A consummate professional, he is also counted as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Well-regarded for his accomplishments in the field, he has been honored as an Outstanding Young Educator in Technology Education in North Dakota and as an Outstanding Young Educator in North Dakota by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association. Attributing much of his success to his dedicated work ethic, Mr. Heitkamp is particularly proud to be able to have a positive impact on the lives of his students.
