Title: Business Educator and Military Accountant (Retired)
Company: Arlington County Public Schools and U.S. Department of Education
Location: Fort Washington, Maryland, United States

Clarice Burthey Crudup, a former business educator and military accountant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the fields of education and government service.

Following several decades of service as a business educator with the Arlington County Public Schools district and as a military accountant for the U.S. Department of Defense, Ms. Crudup has since retired after a deeply fulfilling career. In a professional journey suffused with highlights, she is most proud to have earned recognition from her supervisors for her work as an accountant on behalf of several government departments. In this capacity, Ms. Crudup received two promotions for her exemplary performance.

As a teacher, Ms. Crudup taught in high school and delighted in the adulation she received from her students, many of whom regarded her as their favorite teacher. She is particularly gratified that many of her former pupils followed her example and became managers and directors of government agencies in their own right. Additionally, Ms. Crudup has distinguished herself as a stalwart member of her local community, and has donated much of her time and resources through the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, through which she leveraged her expertise in working with many different people. Likewise, she maintained involvement with the National Education Association.

Reflecting upon her long and storied career, Ms. Crudup wrote “My Journey with God in Spite of the Devil.” First released in 2019, the book expounds upon her struggles with bipolar disorder and the solace she found in her Christian faith. A former member of the Ephesians Baptist Church between 1989 and 2019, which recognized her with their “Hidden Figure Award,” Ms. Crudup is now part of the congregation at the Grace United Methodist Church.
