Mr. Kuban’s distinguished career in manufacturing and education reflects a steadfast commitment to workforce development and the mentorship of future trades professionals. Since 2022, he has managed all aspects of Kuban Konsulting as a one-person corporation. In this capacity, he fields inquiries from potential clients and collaborates with human resources departments and management teams to design and implement specialized workforce training tailored to each company’s unique manufacturing needs. Mr. Kuban’s consulting services span from high-level process optimization to foundational skills training, such as measurement fundamentals and precision reading. His expertise is grounded in decades of experience across machining, production and specialized trades.
Before founding his consulting business, Mr. Kuban served as a manufacturing instructor at Crete-Monee High School in Crete, Illinois, from 2018 to 2025. There, he taught machining, welding, carpentry and basic electrical work to sophomores through seniors.
During 2018 and 2019, Mr. Kuban was also a machining instructor with REmark Consulting in Park Forest, Illinois. Earlier, he contributed as an applied technology instructor at Rich Township High School District 227 from 2016 to 2018 and as a machining instructor for OAI, Inc., also in Park Forest, during the same period. Between 2011 and 2016, Mr. Kuban managed the INAM Grant at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, Illinois, a role that further solidified his commitment to vocational education.
Mr. Kuban’s impact was evident in the success of his students, with 90% having earned their Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-hour certifications under his guidance and approximately 30% achieving at least two National Institute for Metalworking Skills certifications. He takes particular pride in preparing students for careers in manufacturing and measures his legacy through their achievements rather than his consulting projects.
Mr. Kuban’s industrial experience began with a decade-long tenure as a journeyman sheet metal worker at Erickson Electrical Equipment Co., starting in 1988. This foundational role allowed him to develop technical skills in machining and manufacturing while learning from tradespeople with decades of experience. Mr. Kuban later became a supervisor at Dor-O-Matic, a subsidiary of Ingersoll Rand Inc., for several years before serving as a head line supervisor at Winstrom Windows for over five years. The closure of Winstrom Windows prompted his transition into academia, where he continued to shape the next generation of skilled workers.
Mr. Kuban’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in finance and economics from Governors State University in University Park, Illinois, completed in 1994, and a Master of Arts in education from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, earned in 2005. These degrees have provided him with both pedagogical insight and business acumen, skills that have proven essential for his roles as an educator and consultant.
In addition to his formal education, Mr. Kuban’s professional qualifications are extensive and reflect comprehensive mastery of industry standards. Among them are the OSHA 30-hour certification from CareerSafe, Fanuc Handling Operations and Programming Level 1 from FANUC America Corporation/Moraine Valley Community College, OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification, and multiple certifications from the National Institute for Metalworking Skills, including CNC milling operator certification, CNC turning operator certification, job planning layout and benchwork certification, and measurement materials and safety certification. Additionally, Mr. Kuban holds maintenance awareness certification, measurement certification, production certification, safety certification and green production certification from the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council as well as certified production technician status.
Beyond professional accomplishments, Mr. Kuban remains deeply invested in mentoring former students who frequently return seeking guidance on advanced coursework or career decisions. He volunteers his time generously, recently assisting an advanced welding student, and consistently makes himself available for those pursuing further growth within the trades. Underscoring his lifelong dedication to service and community engagement, Mr. Kuban has also been recognized for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout through Scouting America, formerly Boy Scouts of America.
Throughout his career journey, Mr. Kuban has drawn inspiration from the seasoned professionals who mentored him early on.
