Janice M. Kinsinger, EdD, Leadership Instructor at Bethel Lutheran High School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Education and Administration.
Dr. Kinsinger has distinguished herself through a dynamic and impactful career spanning more than five decades. Since 2022, she has served as a leadership instructor at Bethel Lutheran High School in Morton, Illinois. In this capacity, Dr. Kinsinger incorporates both Christian and non-religious life coaching approaches into her teaching, acting as an accountability partner for individuals seeking to overcome obstacles and achieve new milestones in their personal or professional lives.
Known for her leadership, Dr. Kinsinger notably founded Bethel Lutheran High School at her church, where she also chaired the strategic planning committee during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her efforts brought together parents, community members, and church leaders to evaluate feasibility and ultimately establish the school.
Before her leading role at the high school, Dr. Kinsinger was the associate dean of organizational learning at Illinois Central College for more than a decade, between 2006 and 2017. In this position, she played a pivotal role in shaping institutional culture and supporting faculty development initiatives.
Dr. Kinsinger’s earlier tenure at Illinois Central College spanned more than three decades. Hired by the school in 1983, she spent 20 years as the medical laboratory technician program director. In this role, she oversaw curriculum development and accreditation processes while mentoring students entering the medical laboratory sciences field. Dr. Kinsinger also served as the director of instructional innovation and faculty development from 2001 to 2006, followed by her role as the associate dean of organizational learning between 2006 and 2017, where she was also active as the co-chair of the adjunct faculty advisory committee, the co-facilitator of the organizational learning committee, and the chair of the mini-grant and endowed chair committee and the awards committee.
Before pivoting into higher education, Dr. Kinsinger’s foundational experience in clinical laboratory science began with supervisory positions in hematology. She first worked at Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington from 1973 to 1975. She then held appointments at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, between 1975 and 1976, and Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois, from 1976 to 1978.
Dr. Kinsinger’s academic background has been instrumental in shaping her multifaceted career. She received a Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center in 1973, a Master of Arts in secondary education and a master’s certification in education for medical personnel from Bradley University in 1979, followed by a Doctor of Education in community college leadership from Ferris State University in 2022. Dr. Kinsinger’s commitment to ongoing professional growth is evident through her credentials as a Maxwell Leadership certified team member since 2024 and a certified coach since 2025.
Aside from her education, Dr. Kinsinger’s commitment to professional excellence has been further demonstrated by her active involvement in industry organizations. She has been a member of Maxwell Leadership since 2024 and serves as a national membership development chair for the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Science. These affiliations reflect Dr. Kinsinger’s dedication to leadership development and advancing standards within her profession.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Kinsinger has demonstrated sustained civic engagement as a school board member for Bethel Lutheran Ministries since 2009. She also participates regularly in ladies’ bible study groups.
Throughout her journey, Dr. Kinsinger has attributed her success to the guidance of exceptional mentors who have supported her progression at every stage. She also credits her faith as a foundational influence on her approach to coaching and leadership. Looking ahead, Dr. Kinsinger intends to establish and fully operationalize her life coaching practice, working with select clients while prioritizing helping others achieve their goals. Her enduring legacy is defined by transformative leadership, unwavering faith and a profound dedication to empowering individuals.
