Dr. Robinson has reached a number of firsts in the education field, including first female chair of the English department at Saint Andrew’s School in Boca Raton, Florida, and the first female head of school at the Dwight School in New York City. Since 2004, she has held the title of emerita head of school from Dwight, after serving as its administrative leader for 10 years. Today, Dr. Robinson offers her services as an independent educational consultant as well as a board member of the Association for the Advancement of Educational Research and Treasure Time. She has appeared in the pages of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women.

Born in Newark, New Jersey to Salvatore and Wilhelmina Guinta, Dr. Robinson earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Tufts University and a Master of Arts in English from Boston University, where she was an administrator from 1962 to 1967. As a student, she was a reading specialist with Hingham Public Schools and Mantor Hall Schools, fostering an early interest in teaching. She later went on to become a reporter, director of Christ Lutheran School, and reading specialist of Scituate Public Schools in Massachusetts. Dr. Robinson earned a PhD from Boston University in 1979 and headed English departments in three states before becoming assistant vice principal at the Islamic Saudi Academy in Virginia. After leading the Dwight School and numerous New York programs, she returned to New England for reading and literacy programs, even delving into online education.

Dr. Robinson has also been a prolific educator in collegiate classrooms, notably as a professor with Nova Southeastern University from 1984 to 1988. She held civic roles in groups like the town advisory committee of Scituate and as parent agent of the Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. She is a life member of the Modern Language Association, and affiliated with numerous English associations, including the Shakespeare Society, the Fitzgerald Society, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Dr. Robinson is the recipient of a 1988 Service Award from the International Propeller Club, a 1988 Achievement Award from the National League of American Pen Women, and a 1987 Teacher Award from the English Speaking Union. She is the author of such works as “Fostering Creativity in Children, K-8: Theory and Practice,” and fostered her own children, John Paul and David Samuel. Dr. Robinson is now married to Enders Anthony Robinson.
