Raquel R. Ramsey, Executive Producer and Author, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements and leadership in Education and Historical Preservation.
Ms. Ramsey has distinguished herself through a career spanning five decades, marked by her unwavering commitment to education, historical preservation and storytelling. Most recently, she has served as the executive producer of the documentary “Never Surrender: The Ed Ramsey Story,” a project that underscores her dedication to preserving military history and honoring her family’s legacy.
Among a range of responsibilities as a documentary film producer, Ms. Ramsey has contributed to writing memoirs and historical accounts, coordinating with museums and organizations for film screenings, and reviewing biographical content for publication.
Earlier, Ms. Ramsey was the executive producer of “Taking Flight: The Nadine Ramsey Story.” This film exemplifies her commitment to chronicling significant family achievements and military contributions. Her work on this project involved extensive research, collaboration with historical institutions, and the crafting of a compelling narrative that brings to light the remarkable story of Nadine Ramsey. Through both these productions, Ms. Ramsey has demonstrated her ability to bridge generations by sharing stories that inspire and educate.
From 1992 to 2013, Ms. Ramsey served as English as a Second Language coordinator and administrator at Beverly Hills High School in Beverly Hills, California. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in shaping the school’s language programs, supporting students from diverse backgrounds and fostering an inclusive educational environment. Ms. Ramsey’s leadership contributed significantly to the academic success of countless students.
Ms. Ramsey’s professional journey is further distinguished by her authorship of acclaimed works, including “Reflections” and “Taking Flight: The Nadine Ramsey Story,” both published by the University Press of Kansas. These publications not only highlight her literary talent but also serve as enduring testaments to her lifelong dedication to education and to preserving her legacy. Her memoir “Reflections” offers personal insights into her life’s journey, while “Taking Flight” provides an in-depth account of Nadine Ramsey’s extraordinary achievements.
Ms. Ramsey is an active member of numerous organizations dedicated to military history and heritage, including the Military Order of the World Wars, the American Legion, the Philippine Scouts Heritage Society, the United States Cavalry Association and the Oklahoma Military Academy (now Rogers State University). Through these affiliations, she continues to support initiatives that promote historical awareness and community engagement.
Ms. Ramsey’s academic foundation was established at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, where she earned both a Bachelor of Science in education with a focus on secondary education and teaching, and a Bachelor of Letters in journalism and foreign service, both in 1972. These degrees provided her with the pedagogical expertise and communication skills essential for her roles in education and authorship. Additionally, Ms. Ramsey holds secondary teaching credentials along with an administrative credential from the Beverly Hills Unified School District.
In recognition of her outstanding service in education and her efforts to honor her husband’s heroism, Ms. Ramsey received a dual proclamation from the Beverly Hills Council. She also received a Hero Award from Downtown Los Angeles.
Throughout her career, Ms. Ramsey has taught literature, poetry and writing while coaching students in speech and debate. Her transition into authorship was motivated by personal promises made to document the courageous stories within her family. Looking ahead, Ms. Ramsey remains committed to honoring her faith and family legacy while inspiring others through writing and storytelling. She continues to share her experiences to make a positive impact on others’ lives through education, mentorship and creative expression.
