Olga Sokolova, Director of International Students’ Department at Championship Academy of Distinction, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements and leadership in Education and International Student Support. 

Ms. Sokolova has established herself as a distinguished figure in the field of education, currently serving as the director of the international students’ department at the Championship Academy of Distinction in Hollywood, Florida. Since 2023, she has been instrumental in supporting international students, drawing on her expertise to create an inclusive and nurturing environment. Ms. Sokolova’s fluency in English, Russian, Ukrainian and Spanish further enhances her ability to connect with a diverse student body, as well as her extensive expertise in curriculum development, classroom management and practical strategies for gifted and English as a second language students in both reading and mathematics. 

Before being acquired by the Championship Academy of Distinction, Ms. Sokolova founded Spanish Sunday School in 2015, where she continues to serve as the owner and creator of the online school. This initiative reflects her passion for language education and cultural exchange.  Earlier, Ms. Sokolova excelled as a dedicated teacher and mathematics coach for second through fourth-grade students at Innovation Charter School from 2016 to 2022.

Ms. Sokolova’s leadership style has been characterized by transparency and collaboration. She fosters an environment of mutual respect and well-being among her colleagues, striking a balance between professionalism and warmth, as well as humor. Her approach ensures that educators feel supported rather than overwhelmed by their responsibilities. Moreover, Ms. Sokolova strives to continually foster an inclusive and engaging environment for all students.

Before pivoting into education, Ms. Sokolova served as the chief guest relation officer for MSC Cruises’ Japanese Cruise Line, a global company, from 2001 to 2006, where she excelled in customer service and cross-cultural communication. She then became active in the corporate sector as the head of the Kiev, Ukraine, office for Davis Manafort LLC between 2006 and 2015. Ms. Sokolova’s leadership skills were honed during this period, preparing her for future roles in education. 

Ms. Sokolova’s academic background included receiving a Bachelor of Education in foreign languages and literatures from Zaporizhzhia National University in Ukraine, completed in 2005. She is currently pursuing a Master of Education in educational leadership and administration at Saint Thomas University in Miami, Florida. 

Beyond the classroom, Ms. Sokolova is actively involved in a project aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s education system. She is also working on publishing a textbook for students learning Spanish as a second language, which will be released in both Russian and English.

Since entering the field of education, Ms. Sokolova most notably developed an acceleration program for gifted students, which resulted in a remarkable 100% proficiency rate, serving as a testament to her innovative teaching methods. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to teaching, she was honored with the Best Teacher of the Year award. Ms. Sokolova attributes much of her success to the unwavering support of her family, particularly her mother and son, who inspire her dedication to education.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Sokolova plans to complete her master’s degree and establish an intervention department to support students who have not met their goals. Her vision is to continue building positive educational environments where both teachers and students can thrive.
