Ms. Reeser has enjoyed a tenured career in education and leadership, spanning over 35 years. She was affiliated with the San Domenico School in San Anselmo, California, until her retirement in 2024. She began her career at the school in 2005 as a high school academic dean and English teacher. Subsequently, she served as the middle school academic dean and middle school English chair, literacy coordinator, director of lower school, and K-12 director of teaching and learning. From 2016 to 2024, she was the upper school and K-12 director of teaching and learning. Before becoming a faculty member at San Domenico, Ms. Reeser was a middle and high school English teacher for Teton County School District in Jackson, Wyoming, from 1997 to 2004. She also taught advanced placement courses, creative writing and journalism.
Beyond her primary career experiences, Ms. Reeser began volunteering as a writing tutor and English Teacher at San Quentin Prison, State Prison and Rehabilitation, in 2024. Her passion for teaching and learning has been instrumental in her success. Ms. Reeser has significantly benefited from the support of several mentors who provided her with opportunities for growth. Her most notable career achievement has been making a difference in children’s lives and having the privilege to teach future leaders. Ms. Reeser has held various high-level titles, but her true passion has always been her role in the classroom.
In preparation for her future, Ms. Reeser earned an undergraduate degree at the University of San Francisco in 1995 and a master’s degree in arts, education and English at the University of Vermont in 1998. As she takes a year off to contemplate her next role, she is considering establishing a consulting company focused on K-12 schools, where she can share her experience and help other teachers and leaders in their pursuit of excellence. Ms. Reeser is also contemplating pursuing a headship or returning to teaching. Beyond her professional goals, she aims to become more involved in community efforts by continually promoting equitable access to education for everyone, especially for marginalized groups.
